Communication Diamond

If you are preparing long-form content like a presentation or report, the diamond model works great for putting a structure around your main idea. Here’s how the diamond structure looks like, followed by how it works –

To get your audience’s attention, start with a story, a statistic, or something similar. In heading into the main topic, briefly introduce it with a general overview, followed by quick previews of your subtopics.

Once covered, you can then go into depth with your subtopics. As you close, recap your subtopics and paint an ideal vision of the future. If your presentation or report’s goal is to get your audience moving, invite them to act or make a decision.

That’s it. Easy peasy.
