Happy Birthday Lessons

Today is my birthday. Below are fifteen insights that might be helpful to you. They are not  original ideas. Some I learned from others, some reinforced by my own meandering experience. Nonetheless, I am sharing them as a birthday gift. Read on and learn –

  1. About 99% of the time, the right time is right now.

  2. Don't work for or with someone you don’t want to become.

  3. Don't keep making the same mistakes; try to make new ones.

  4. Whenever there is an argument between two sides, find the third.

  5. The real job is to create more leaders, not followers.

  6. Criticize in private, praise in public.

  7. Don’t trust your memory; write things down, take pictures.

  8. Speak confidently as if you are right, but listen carefully as if you are wrong.

  9. Don’t wait for the storm to pass; dance in the rain.

  10. Always read the plaque next to the monument.

  11. Take the stairs.

  12. Don't wait in line to eat something famous. It is rarely worth the wait.

  13. Don't bother fighting the old; just build the new.

  14. You are as big as the things that make you angry.

  15. The chief prevention against getting old is to remain astonished.
